How long did it take you to get over it? My boyfriend of almost 2 years just left me and I’m having a really hard time

I know I hated this answer but it’s true. Time, at first it felt crushing, like nothing will be okay again, then it felt like something was missing and I kept dwelling on memories, and now I barely remember anything specific, it just fades with time. Just try to practice self love in whichever form you like it :) ❤️

I thought I was in love with a guy for 5 years. I spent all my high school years and some chasing after him. Throughout high school him and I got into arguments over dumb childish matter, and he also had a girlfriend who didn’t like me. I didn’t care though. I was 16 and immature. He lives about an hour away from me, so we never got the chance to hang out in person until one day I met him at a college tour. I snuck around to see him and ended up getting caught by my dad and I had shitty lunches for 3 days. I thought it was all worth it just to see him because I was convinced he was my soulmate and that I loved him. 
I finally got the chance to call him my boyfriend about a year ago. I was like this is it, I finally have what I have been dreaming of. He cheated on me 2 weeks later. LOL. 
A few months later I then found my now boyfriend, and have been with him for almost a year now. I see him regularly and he’s given me promise rings and has cared about me more than the previous guy could ever. He has shown me what it’s like to be treated right and like a queen. I don’t know what I saw in the other guy. 
But I will tell you, sometimes it will be hard. It took me a very long time to find the strength in me. I believe you can do it as well.
