Why doesn't he want to get me one?

I feel bad because my boyfriend won't get me a promise ring. 😢 I know they don't mean much to people, most people just care about engagement rings. I guess i just feel so bad about it because my boyfriend got one for his ex before. She ended up cheating on him though. Is that why he doesn't want to get me one? Because he thinks i will cheat? We talked about the future & he said he wants to marry me some day & be with me for the rest of his life. I don't understand. Could he be afraid of commitment? I just wanna feel special 😢

Promise rings to me.... Oh boy... Okay so promise rings are (to me) stupid. Why do you care? I think if he's going to give you a ring it should be the deal sealer, not the "maybe I might someday ask you to for real marry me." Promise rings themselves reek of commitment issues. It's getting the girl of the guys back about marriage for awhile. If you actually love him a ring that basically puts marriage on hold would be repellent. This is coming from a girl who had a promise ring.

Your being needy , you don't need a ring to prove that he loves you and that he'll marry you! If he one day decides to get you one then great ! But you can't ask for one he'll give it when the time is right. Also, don't compare your self with his ex that's just dumb, who care what happen in the past. Right now it's you and him

My college bf got me one since it was the 'thing' to do. Totally not worth it as you should be equally as fine with not having one. My fiancé told me that he would buy me jewelry but never a ring until it was THE ring and it made it even more special. 😁

I've wondered that too. They're typically high school and middle school things, but my boyfriend's grandma has brought it up to him and said that he needs to get me one, but I think by this time next year I'll have an engagement ring, so I'm patient.

My cousin's ex had an "I'm taken" ring when she was 21 or so to stop people from hitting on her, and my other cousin's wife (girlfriend at the time) had a promise ring before he actually proposed. It was more of an unofficial placeholder ring.

My last fiance gave me a promise ring. Some people thinks they are stupid I did untill he gave me one. Dont pressure him it to it. It will happen when the times right when he ready.
