Epidural? Yay or Nay?

Thoughts on epidurals vs natural birth?! What are you planning to do? This is my first baby, so never experiencing a contraction I am going to go into it willing to go either way and see if I can tolerate the pain, then take it from there !

If you want to go natural I would read Ina Mays book. I wanted to go natural but I ended up being induced and ended up having a semi rapid labor with very little break in between contractions. Even with the epidural I felt most everything but I was following her breathing techniques.

I was planning to go natural with my first but needed an epidural in the end. I was a bit sad, but I liked that I could change my mind and get it. I’d like to go natural this time but again if it doesn’t work I know I have this option. But this time I wouldn’t call it a PLAN because with kids nothing ever goes according to a plan 😂

I had one with my first and it was AMAZING! I got to 5cm and decided to get it. Didn’t feel the needle go in and I would have been able to sleep EASILY after it if I wasn’t so excited to see baby lol. It made my birth experience way more enjoyable and I definitely plan to get an epidural with this next one if I’m able to! 🤞🏼

I'm going for a no intervention birth at a birthing center run by midwives. They dont have epidurals there. I dont believe its necessary for the most part

I'm hoping to go natural. It's my 1st baby too though so idk what to expect. My hospital has laughing gas there which is safe for baby so I'm hoping that can be my go to if it gets to be too much.

I have a neurological condition that affects everything waist down. It is advised to me to have one. Also I am have an appointment two months before my due date with an anesthesiologist to have a plan in place of where the best placement gor an epidural is for me. I am really wanting to have this baby vaginaly so I want the best plan in place for babies safety and mine. Also having all doctors and specialists on the same page is important. It will help my husband not feel overwhelmed between  expectations and reality.

You can place to do something alll you want. But it’s up to your body. I had to get one, my body wasn’t progressing anymore after 5CM. So it was either that, or c section. She came barely 2 hours later after getting it lol I wish i would’ve gotten it in the beginning.

I had an epidural both times and  I will have it again...it's the best!!!!
