It depends which hormonal BC. Estrogen can amplify the effect of nicotine on your blood vessels (which is to make them more brittle). I haven’t seen anything about smoking pot, not enough studies yet. But as far as cigarettes, it’s the nicotine that raises the risk. Progestin only methods don’t have this problem at all and are actually preferred for women who smoke

Smoking anything is bad for your system and can effect you especially when on a birth control.
I'm not sure about eating it. Although I assume this is the safer option
