It happened
I’m pregnant. It took us 8 months of trying... and finally it happened. (Heads up I’m open and telling all the deets). There was months of us doing it every other day during ovulation week. Month after month. THEN we do it ONCE in the month of December, and only once for several reasons. One, we were about to travel around Mexico for two weeks and I didn’t want to be pregnant in Mexico because I didn’t want to be sick and I didn’t want to risk Zika. Two, because I was sick with a cold. Three, he had a fever blister. BUT it was peak day and my cervical mucus was on point. So I said what the hay, let’s give it a go. And let me tell ya it was the most unromantic encounter yet. We were both dog tired, but I told him to come do his duty real quick so we could go to sleep. No kissing, due to the cold and fever blister which honestly made me feel a bit like a prostitute. He came and went. And as soon as he left I propped my hips up with a pillow, finished myself off (to help the sperm along) and went to sleep. Bada bing we got a baby! The ONE time. Annnnd I found out on my fourth day in mexico. I was MISERABLE the rest of the trip. It was absolutely terrible and I’m never going back. Seriously. Now I’m on week 10 of my first pregnancy. Was tested for Zika because we went to south Mexico for half of our trip and I definitely got bitten by mosquitos. The Test, which I was told by the doctor, is unreliable came back negative. But I tested positive for some unknown antibodies. Which MAY be a different virus. Further specialized testing is needed which I have to go to a sub specialist for. Yes I was very sick in Mexico but it was very difficult to know what was pregnancy symptoms and what was illness. Soooo I’d appreciate any good thoughts, well wishes, and/or prayers. Thanks
PS: for those trying to conceive. I was starting to worry after trying for so long. So I decided to take more control. For about 2-3 months I ate grain free/sugar free, Did CrossFit 3 times a week, and although I didn’t drink alcohol often I cut that out entirely too. Obviously you’d want to stop any recreational drugs you may be doing. I believe it helped our chances tremendously. Although it only took 2-3 months I planned on continuing that lifestyle as long as it would take.
