My grandmother is in her early 80s and regularly meets gentlemen for dinner she meets online. As long as a person is safe and they verify who they’re talking to before meeting in a public place I think it’s fine, especially for lonely seniors who need to get out of the house!

I think if you're older online relationships can actually be more successful..or at least more real. While you may not meet in person for a period of time you can skype, video chat, etc. My husband and I met online and we "dated" for about 4 months until we met in person the first time but we skyped everyday. That's the beauty of the internet, you can meet great people you never would have without it!
