Clomid to shorten cycle?

A little background: my first pregnancy was an uncomplicated full term pregnancy. 2nd pregnancy was a chemical, third was a spontaneous miscarriage at 7 weeks, third was a chemical pregnancy.

My cycles are long, ovulating anywhere between day 18- 28 & my doc thinks that's the reason for my chemicals- ovulating too late then not being in it's prime when fertilized. My insulin levels are high so I was started on metformin & my next cycle my doc wants me to try clomid days 3-7, do an ultrasound on day 13 or 14 to check follicles and then if there's only one or two we will try for this cycle.

I've been reading a few threads saying clomid made them ovulate late but that is the opposite of why my doctor wants me to use it. I'm afraid it's going to backfire. Any advice? I'm on cd 16 right now so I will start clomid whenever I start my next cycle.

Before I started clomid I got positive opks around day 11. I did my first round of 50mg this cycle and didn't get a positive until day 16 when I gave myself the trigger shot. My doctor measured my follicles on day 11 and said they were at a 1.5 and they grow about 0.2 a day and they typically want them at a 2.3 because any larger and they aren't at their "prime." Maybe see if your doctor can measure your follicles and see when they are at the size they need to be.

Basically it's written by a woman taking Clomid, sharing her experiences.  She says Clomid can lengthen your luteal phase.

I've got questions about the same thing.  My cycles are short and I've been ovulating early (cd11), but since starting Ovaboost, Fertilaid, FertileCM, Maca root, etc I ovulate on CD14.  I really want a better idea of what Clomid will do for me.  I hope you get lots of responses.
