Second time moms?

Question

How do you all plan on telling your older babies? 
My daughter is four and I just found out I’m pregnant again. She’s a super smart girl and I’ve kind of already conditioned her to the “idea” of a new baby. Talking about babies, her being a big sister, how she can help, etc. but how that it’s real, idk how to tell her and when to tell her like it is actually happening lol. Any advice?

My son just turned two. I asked him if he wanted baby sister or a baby brother, he just gave me a blank stare 😂 then I explained that I have tiny baby in my tummy. I think he understands, but of course not fully. I think it’s much easier to tell them when they’re younger I guess since they can’t explain what they are thinking yet. Probably going to keep bringing it up to get him more used to the idea, as he will be there by the time the baby is born.

My daughters almost four and super smart as well. I just explained the baby to her in the simplistic terms of there’s a baby in mommies tummy and it will need to stay there for awhile to get healthy and then once it’s ready the doctors will help the baby come out and she will be a big sister! Both my kids (my son is almost six) also took it well and they both will just randomly ask to talk to the baby in my tummy. Cute things like that.

My 4 yo has been saying he'll be a big brother for a while, but he has now been saying he's gonna have a baby sister by the time he turns 5 (Sept. 21st, and Edd Oct. 5th 😂). We'll wait until we're out of the 1st. trimester, then just tell him that we have a special gift for when he turns 5 and explain. Then we'll take him out for pizza lol (I have all outlined in my head, but I don't think I've told the plan to my SO yet lololol)

My daughter is 3 and has been asking for a baby brother or sister for about a year. I think she's going to be excited. I know my sister bought my nephew a "Big Brother" book when she was telling him that she was pregnant again

I prepared my 3 yo the same as you, and when we found out I told him there was a baby in my tummy and he would get to see it in a few months. To keep him accustomed to the idea I show him the pictures on my pregnancy apps and he even asks to kiss the baby goodnight. They understand so much more than we give them credit for!

See that’s where I’m struggling lol. My daughter has not asked, not really seemed interested in having a baby sibling lol. She has only child syndrome for sure lol! I’m hoping once she can tell the different that it will be better. I’m also waiting until I’m passed the first trimester to tell her.
