Routine for 4 month old?

How long did it take to get your LO's on a daily schedule? What does your schedule consist of? I just dont know if I'm letting my baby sleep too long or too much? Mainly just curious!

Sometimes a schedule does not emerge until 4-5 months sometimes later especially when it comes to naps. My little guy is going on 3 months and sleeps through the night. However, his napping is in short bursts throughout the day. He hasn’t established a napping schedule yet, which is completely normal for his age. The same went with my two daughters. A napping schedule wasn’t established until around 5 months. Both also slept through the night.

We put our daughter on a schedule at 4 months and she stayed on it until she was 13 months. She woke at 6:30am, napped from 9:30-11:30am and again from 2:30-4pm and then went to bed at 6:30pm. At 13 months we dropped down to one nap a day from 12-2pm. Same bedtime.

We started a routine our first day home but only in terms of waking time and bedtime and it helped immensely. Naps we kind of just let her do her own thing. We aimed for starting bedtime around 8pm so we just limit the napping closer to that. Her wake time is 530-6 because that’s what we have to do for our work schedules. That’s the only thing we really worry about and stick to. Everything else in between is more flexible.

My boy was on a routine from the day he came home. At 4 months, he was sleeping 8-10 hours a night. He was eating every 4 hours during the day
