Fluid left outside of condom

Hi, so here's the thing, me and my boyfriend had sex last night and when he went to the bathroom to remove the condom he told me he noticed some slimy fluid on the outside tip of the condom, he checked if there was a hole but he didn't see any and he smelt it and it didn't smell like semen, but now i am extremely worried, what could it be?
