Friends help paint letters for the nursery

I want to have a collage alphabet in our gender neutral nursery. I want each person that is special to us/our baby to paint or decorate a letter! They could put their favorite Bible verse on it, if the like music they could put notes on it, if they like cows maybe paint it black and white spots...the posibilities are endless! Do yall think it would be better to have a paint party at my house and provide paint/supplies and let everyone come over or would it be better to give each person a letter and just tell them to be creative?
