I want to get birth control and I want to be able to know what I’m getting myself into. Anybody know the process or different types I’ll be 16 in a few months.

You'll need to get a prescription - either from your doctor or Planned Parenthood or a clinic and they may or may not require a pelvic exam. There's lots of different types, with different side effects for each. You'll need to discuss these with your doctor to figure out what will work best for you and your lifestyle. For some women it takes trying a couple different methods to figure out what works best for them. Personally I've been on the patch for five years with no complaints.

I would recommend going to your personal doctor and ask to be put on the pill, they can’t tell your mom or dad without your permission because of doctor patient confidentiality, I hope this helps!!
