Why?!

For 12 years I actively tried to prevent pregnancy. I met my husband 7 years ago and we waited and waited and waited until the time was right. Now that we’re trying, it isn’t happening like we thought (and hoped) it would. 😢

We were in the same boat. We started trying in July and nothing was working. My ob was nice enough to tell me to come back in at 6 months if I wasn’t pregnant and she’d start doing some tests. I did some bloodwork, a sonogram, and she scheduled me for an HSG test. My husband went for a semen analysis. All came back clear aside from my husband having a morphology issue. I had heard that you are more fertile after an HSG test so I was looking forward to it. I ovulated three days after test, and boom...BFP! If you haven’t had an HSG to check if you have any blockages in your tubes, I highly recommend it. If there is a blockage, they can plan to remove it, and if there isn’t, you at least have increased fertility for a few months. Hang in there. It’ll happen!

I've used "natural family planning" the last 6 years since I've been with the same person. I haven't used birth control or condoms...we just avoided having sex certain days of the month, and it's worked. But now that we want another one and don't avoid the prime days, it's still not happening...so I feel you. Makes me feel like something is wrong with me.
