In Ontario we have government regulated midwives, covered by our healthcare. I had the pleasure of delivering my first baby at home with two wonderfully skilled young midwives. Best experience of my life. Of course, I had a low risk pregnancy which allowed me the option to choose to give birth at home without intervention. My midwives visited my house several times following the birth of my baby to make sure we were both healthy and on track with care and breastfeeding.
