Elective C-Section with Twins? 👩🏻‍⚕️👶🏼👶🏼

For those who had or are having twins. Did your dr give you the option of a c- section or not? I had a vaginal birth with my daughter. I’m going with a new dr this pregnancy.

I was given an option. I’m currently 33w and 4 days with boy girl twins. My Dr told me as long as Baby A is head down and the provider whom delivers me is comfortable with breech extractions we should be good to go for vaginal. Also if Baby B weighs a certain amount more than Baby A that can dictate the delivery as well. Baby B was breech for me until 32 weeks. Just last week she flipped to head down last week. I’ve already come to terms with the fact that realistically I won’t be able to decide my delivery until the day I go into labor because there’s so many factors that going into it- but my provider also told me if I do get someone who’s comfortable delivering breech and baby B ends up breech they will usually do whatever they can (unless Baby or momma is in danger) to deliver baby B vaginally as well. She said as long as baby doesn’t come out arm first or baby is in distress they will always do what they can to be sure the momma doesn’t have to go through both delivery methods. Of course not everyone is as lucky but I was told if they have the time they do everything they can to turn and switch baby around etc because doing a c section!

Mine briefly mentioned that some women wanted a C-section no matter what to avoid the unknowns of a twin delivery, which led me to believe that it could be an option. But that is NOT what I want, not at all, so we didn't talk about it any further.

No I have to get a c section since one of the babies has been breech my whole pregnancy.

Yes but it may depend on your doctor. My OB suggested a c-section right from the beginning but left the choice up to me (as long as it was safe to do so). In the end due to a couple of issues I had to have a c-section anyway.

My doctor never mentioned a c section to me. Baby B had gotten breeched at one point but she turned back head down, I ended up having them natural and came out with only 3 stitches

I am praying to God I do not need a C section! My first two babies were born vaginally. I am terrified of needing a C section. Some
Drs let you attempt vaginal as long as baby A is head down.  My OB on the other hand said both have to be head down for me to deliver naturally. 😩 I’m already praying they cooperate and are head down come D day!

I had vaginal birth with my twins with the power of epidural anything is possible. I didn’t even feel them when I was pushing them out.best part I had quick recovery. My friend who had c-section with her twins had hard time recovering. If you can do vaginal go for it. The recovery of c-section is not worth it at the end.
