Ovulation twice in one month?

Question

So I’ve been tracking my ovulation with strips, had (2) positive days (when flow said I would be ovulating as well) then negative to follow- normal- decided to keep testing (not sure why but I am...) and today was positive. Can I ovulate twice in one month?

It does not happen often, but it does happen. That is why using only the safe days method as birth control is unreliable sometimes, or why period sex can get you pregnant sometimes. 
Every day of your fertile life, there are about 30 follicles that starts to develop, and 30 that reaches maturity. The follicles in your ovaries that reached maturity today, started developing about 3 months ago. These follicles that matured today will just die. But when the conditions are right for ovulation, one will become dominant and get released. So sometimes the conditions will never get just right in your cycle, and no ovulation will take place, sometimes more than one egg is released during ovulation, leading to twins and triplets. And sometimes (very infrequently) , your body gets confused and you will ovulate a second time in that cycle.
This is also the reason why you become infertile as you get older. The supply of good follicles are limited, and every time one dies, there is one less, and every day, all the remaining ones are 1 day older and 1 day more damaged by aging and the environment.
Your body is a complex miracle, and very special.
