Has anyone dealt with the loss of a loved one & the birth of their baby at the same time ?

I’ve just found out that my grandmother who I live with & am very close to has days to live. This comes unexpectedly & just 6 weeks before she is due to become a great grandmother to my baby girl . She is more excited than almost anyone & I am heartbroken that she won’t live to meet her. Has anyone experienced something similar ? How did you cope ? It would be comforting to hear others’ personal stories

Yes, I found out in April of 2012 my grandad was really sick and dying. I moved back home April 6, 2012 and he died April 17, 2012. We are a very close family and this took a toll on us. On May 17, 2012 exactly a month to the day my grandad died my daughter was born!

I haven’t. I am sorry you are going through that. My husband and I both have grandmas in their 90s. I am due in September so I am hoping they both make it. I am praying for you. I can’t even begin to imagine.
