Cat pooping/peeing in bathtub?

This has only happened twice.. but in the last week. My 1 1/2 old male cat pooped in the bathrub near the drain on one occasion and then next peed (not much) by the drain as well. His liter box was pretty clean. Any ideas of what this might be?

Cats typically pee in sinks or tubs when they have urinary tract infections. I’d have a vet check him/her out.

Omg mine shits and pees every time. 
She was a outdoor cat for 5 years...even when we've moved. 
 now since we moved again she refusee to go outside. 
She shits and poops in my bathtub all the time 
And I bought her a litter box..
Does not use
So I put the litter box in the bathtub 
She pooped around it. Smh
Sometimes she pisses outside the tub to.
Shes such a headache!

Start by putting water in the tub and sink and tell them no if/when they do. Maybe change the litter or possibly food? What food, litter and litter box do you use?  I had to get a new box( he uses the pet safe booda dome now), litter (smart cat clay litter or swheat scoop) and food for my cat. I had him on hills science diet for urinary care for a bit and it seemed to help a lot. I also got a plug in pheromone diffuser for my room near his box. All of that together did the trick because just shutting the door to the bathroom didn’t work. He would just go to the next bathroom.

I have three cats.  One of them POOPS ON MY COUNTER!!!! the liter boxes are changed daily, there’s 3 of them.  2 closed, 1 open.  She has places up high to sit and relax and the cats all get fed in different areas.  I don’t know WHY she does this🤮

Is your cat fixed? Most times when that happens the only way to change such behavior is getting your cat fixed also the same with dogs. All 4 of my rescue cats use to do that, we eventually got them all fixed and they stopped.
