My husband learned very early on not to discuss our arguments with any of his family...we started out kind of shaky (my fault I admit) and now his whole family has decided I’m crazy lol Luckily for me after the first few months of our relationship we ironed things out and hardly ever have any arguments but I guess the crazy has stuck 💁🏼‍♀️

🙅🏻‍♀️🙅🏻‍♀️🙅🏻‍♀️ that’s a no go. When my husband and I started dating I told him we will not bad mouth each other to our family or friends. I have seen it with both my sisters and their ex’s. The family starts to hate them and doesn’t want them around or knows things that were said. It’s not a good idea. I know when we first started dating though he would tell his mom things but he stopped.

Yes, but i don't think it's wrong to talk to ppl in your life openly about your relationship. 
I think it's better to allow your partner to be open with others,
But that is a good reason to really think about what you say and consider the impact of your actions towards your partner and if they are healthy and fair.
We all do embarrassing things during arguments sometimes, but it's important to take responsibility for any mistakes or unfairness to become a better person. 
I probably feel this ways so strongly, despite being a private person, because it is part of how people protect themselves from emotionally abusive and manipulative relationships. 
If you cannot talk to friends and family about what your partner is doing and saying, you are highly susceptible to being abused & feeling isolated like you can't talk to anyone about what's really going on & you are too close to the situation to realize your partner is being unfair a lot of times. 
I've been emotionally abused, and I didn't tell my family anything, when i finally reached out for help they couldn't believe it & didn't believe it was nearly as bad as it was. 
My best friend was the one who heard most about it & he knew it was wrong immediately. But I didn't. 
I was scared to talk to him about the worst things too & I'd act fine.
The situation makes me realize how important your support system really is, because if he was more successful making me feel I couldn't talk to anyone, I'd probably still be there, possibly being hurt physically by now & still terrified of my boyfriend instead of safe & surrounded by good friends and family.
Allowing your partner to talk to others, and about the relationship, is actually really important for a healthy relationship.

Nobody should be privy to the arguments in your relationship, not even a good friend.   People form opinions about you and your relationship because of it. Keep things between the two of you so nobody else is able to have an influence over how you feel about each other.

No. I've sent messages to his mom and she's sent me messages between him and her. I'm sure he's sent messages to her as well. I have a great relationship with all of my in-laws (and I have a lot of them since both my husband's parents are remarried). They pretty much know what's going on when there are issues and provide support and advise to both sides. Doesn't mean we tell them every single thing but a lot of the stuff they know about. My mom is not here so we keep her out. Plus there's a language barrier between her and my husband, but I wouldn't be upset.
