Hello, I’m a 23year old mom of two boys (2 & 4 years old) who lives in Michigan. I was recently diagnosed with Chiari Malformation 1 12-mm after experience years multiple symptoms suck as shoulder neck pain/discomfort, migraines with aura, tightness in hands & feet, muscle spasms, just all over cramps, aches, discomfort tingling & numbness over whole body. I was diagnosed last years in October with mild S-type scoliosis and anemia. My neurologist has refer me to a neurosurgeon about possible surgery. I’m praying I’ll be able to hold off on surgery but I’m not sure. I was wondering if anyone else on here suffers from Chiari Malformation if so,

What’s symptoms do you have?

What medicines, creams help the pain? Or natural remedies?

Is there any support groups or good books to read on Chiari Malformation?

Does surgery really help?

What other conditions/diseases are associated with this condition?

Does anyone receive disability SSI?

P.s I just had a lumbar spine mri done do to legs feeling heavy & cramps in lower back. Doctor thinks my sciatic nerve is pinched/damage maybe.
