1st infertility appt 2/21 what can I expect?

I’m so excited yet nervous.....I don’t know what to expect but I really hope they start testing that day hell its been 9 consecutive months but 2 years off and on trying to get pregnant....I have PCOS and one Fallopian tube one is causing an issue I use opks but it doesn’t seem to be working or I’m not ovulating...I’m ready to have this baby!!!! What happened at your first infertility appt?! I think this is a consultation but I’m ready 😆

I had my first apt on 2/1 with the under doctor. For me I first just talked with my doctor and she asked for a lot of history dating back to my first period and everything. Then they did an internal ultrasound and checked my uterine lining and how many follicles I had in each ovary (she told me over 12 in either ovary is a solid PCOS diagnosis..I had way more then 12 in each ovary). She concluded I definitely don’t ovulate regularly (if at all). I then had a ton of blood taken- I am talking literally 12 vials!! To do a full hormonal panel plus genetic testing. She told me I needed to get an HSG (did it last week) and that my husband needs to also do the genetic testing and other blood work as well as a sperm analysis. Right now we are waiting on all the information to come in so we can make a plan for what our best method to conceive will be. It was a little overwhelming because there was just a lot of information all at once but overall I left feeling much better then when I walked in. Also just a side note that took me by surprise was that the office I am going to has a lot of nonnegotiables. They will not take you as a patient if you are unwilling to do the genetic testing for instance. Good luck at your appointment- just take notes and ask lots of questions!

I get positive opk’s but since I’m irregular and when i do get af, my cycles are usually on the longer side 35+ days so my dr. Said I’m not ovulating and it’s false positives. Even if I did ovulate later. It’s not “quality” ovulation since it didn’t occur between cd 12-16. She says I have pcos because of my irregular periods and body type ( 165 lbs and 5’3) and she wants to start me on clomid and metformin next cycle.
