1cm dilated 50% effaced??

I was told that this morning when she checked my cervix, I’m 37 weeks! Anyone else been told this and what does it really mean??😬

Unfortunately not much 😬
You could stay that way for weeks or it could progress, but there’s no way of knowing other than just waiting. I had dilated and effaced around 37 weeks too but I still made it to 41 weeks 🤦🏻‍♀️ stubborn little one didn’t want to come out 😂

Let’s put it this way, I’ve been the same for 3 weeks lol. It means your body is getting ready and it could really be any time now, but that could also mean weeks. Everybody is different.

I was told yesterday I’m 1cm and 50%effaced and the doc said basically, if you are having contractions with that, it’s a good sign, if you are just dilated with no other signs or symptoms it doesn’t tell much. Last week I was literally still so high and closed they couldn’t even feel my cervix hardly. Last night I was having contractions and am now 1cm and effaced so I think it depends on if your body is sending other signs as well.

It doesn’t really mean much. I was @ 3cm and 60% at 37weeks and went 40&5

Nothing. At 39 weeks I was 5cm/80% effaced and bulging bag of water and still had to be induced.

It could mean that you’re going to be in labor soon or you could go a couple weeks still. There’s why to tell how long. At least it’s progress though!

It doesn’t really mean anything. I was 1cm and 50% at my 39 week appointment and went into labor the next evening. However some women are more dilated than that for weeks.

Cervical checks literally mean nothing. You could go into labor tomorrow or you could go into labor at 41 weeks.
