Baby lead weaning question?

My son is 7 and a half months old and we started baby food with him at 6 months. He is NOT interested in the mush lol. We are considering baby lead weaning. My question is, what kinds of foods did you start your baby out on?

We started with avocado, and have been doing a new fruit or veggie almost daily. We’ve also done peanut butter and eggs. There’s lots of great resources online!

We had the same issue. We started with avocado but it was hard for him to pick up. So far he’s had scrambled eggs, banana, some black beans out of my salad, steamed carrot sticks and potatoes from our pot roast. We just started last week so I’m a little nervous to let him dive right into foods so I’m taking is slow with the softer stuff first and he’s doing great

My son's first meal was meatloaf with mashed potatoes, gravy, and toast. He is 7.5 months now and we can't even eat within his hearing without him immediately whining lol He still gags sometimes and just threw up again maybe 2 weeks ago (he hates soft textures except for yogurt and a handful of other foods) so don't get discouraged when gagging and throwing up happen! Due to my work schedule we primarily stick to breakfast foods with the occasional dinner thrown in. If you're on Facebook, Baby Led Weaning For Beginners is an amazing resource/group!

My son had alot of gagging issues with BLW & didn't get how to eat till he was 1 so I'm wondering how all your babies are doing with it & if they had a gagging phase? I wanna start my girl on it but afraid she'll have the same problem.

My daughter pretty much eats whatever we eat - flakey fish, peanut butter toast, pasta, bananas, green beans, shredded cheese, eggs, muffins, crinkle cut carrots, avacado, grahm crackers. Anything that isn't spicy.
