Anxiety?

Question

I’m 4 days postpartum and nothing went as planned with the birth. I didn’t do well and ended with a c section and my baby struggled and ended up in the NICU. We are now home and I just feel incredibly anxious. I can’t say why or what I’m anxious about. 
Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes, absolutely!! I experienced both as well and it was pretty traumatic. I still have lingering anxiety, but I’m working through it. If you find your anxiety persists, worsens or really interferes with your peace of mind, don’t hesitate to follow up with your OB or midwife. Postpartum hormones can be overwhelming enough, anxiety on top of it really sucks. I hope yours passes soon. ❤️

Yes! I actually had a post very similar to this after I delivered 8 weeks ago. I was soo overcome with anxiety I had panic attacks and lost sleep. I was so scared I wasn’t going to feel like “me” ever again. So let me tell you you will feel better! It takes some time and it sucks because it’s winter and the best thing for it is going on walks, but everyday it gets a little bit better and you deal with things as they come. Give yourself a big hug and remind yourself how badass you are for just giving birth. The anxiety monster comes as might the blues monster but they get easier to deal with. Just take everything one moment at a time :)

Yes, I had two anxiety attacks in the first week postpartum following my son’s birth which was traumatic for me. I felt better by the end of the first week though. If you don’t, let your OB know

I had an easier than expected labor and delivery and still went through this. I was so anxious about everything. Afraid too. Didn’t want baby out of my sight and got horribly anxious when anyone was holding them except for me. You can always bring it up to your provider and get their input.
