Nexplanon implant

So I’ve had the implant for almost 3years. I have to get it removed and a new one in, in October. I haven’t had a period since I’ve been on it, except in the beginning and that was only spotting. I guess I’m just wondering it it’s normal to start getting your period again in the last year of being on it. I started noticing the bleeding on Sunday and it’s gotten heavier in the last 2 days. It’s more red than pink and I’m debating on putting a pad on because it isn’t coming out. I only notice that it’s more red because every time I pee and I wipe there’s blood on the toilet paper. Anyways if you’ve experienced the same thing please let me know.
