1st appointment with fertility doctor
Hi guys my husband and I took a huge step today and went to see a fertility doctor. I had some bloodwork done, intravaginal ultrasound, and had a discussion with him on how we’ve been TTC for 5-6 years. I have PCOS and Hypothyroidism. My period are crazy irregular, I’m currently on my 3rd week of my cycle and it’s been really heavy but as it turns out my endometrium is too thick. I was prescribed Provera to take for 10 days so I can shed my endometrium and he told me to up my dose of metformin 500 mg from 2 times a day to 3 times a day. He also told me I should add in some diet and exercise to help, I currently weigh 215lbs. I will be back there in about 3 weeks for a saline intravagainal ultrasound and he will also be doing a test under light sedation called an HSG to check for any blockage of my Fallopian tubes. My husband has had a history of low testosterone so he is currently on Clomid for the past 2 years now and it helped him lose some weight and his testosterone as well as his sperm count went up but still wasn’t enough for us to get pregnant. The doctor talked about some different options like IUI or IVF but we’re taking it one step at a time and depending on the HSG test that will determine what will be the next step as well as pricing. I basically just wanted to share my story and was wondering if anyone else has gone through something similar with the meds? And if so if you can give some helpful tips that would be great. Thanks for listening.
