Is dandruff from washing hair too much or not enough?

I’ve never had it before. Just wondering. I noticed some today.

It could be from neither, it’s dry scalp so if your shampoo or conditioner isn’t moisturizing your scalp enough it’ll happen

Mine was from too much washing and stripping my hair of all the natural oils far too often which was making my scalp irritated, itchy, dry, and made my scalp compensate by creating even more oil and build up. I switched to a gentle, ph balanced (5.5 ph level) shampoo that does not strip my hair and I wash once a week (at the most twice) and my dandruff is completely gone. I've had dandruff since I was a teen. I'm in my 30s now and I finally love my hair.

neither. you just have to rinse your hair better to get out all the shampoo and conditioner. you could also get this dandruff shampoo. it’s orange but comes in a dark blue bottle. they sell it at like walmart and other places like it
