TMI!!!! Had a colposcopy done on Tuesday and doctor said I might have some coffee grind looking discharge but she never said it would look like this!!!!! Has anyone had this?!?!

I had something similar with my first colposcopy... it was something they used to stop the bleeding I think (this was 2010 so my memory is a little off). I would call your doctor office to make sure.

That is totally normally. It’s from monsel's solution. They apply that to the cervix to stop bleeding and usually, they over apply it. Think of it like a big scab. It usually takes the shape of your cervix and can almost be like thin skin. Totally normal.

My doctor confirmed it’s the solution that they put. She said it might look like chicken skin. As gross as it sounds!!!

I just had one last week and I had a very similar experience. They use a cream to stop the bleeding that turns black when it comes in contact with blood. Without blood it stays that mustardy brown color. They coat the whole cervix in it. I had a few small pieces day 2 and the third day after one big chunk like you. Totally normal. Praying for us both to get negative results! This is my second colpo in the last 18 months. The first one showed CIN 2 cells but because I was under 25 the guidelines recommended waiting and repeating Pap smear in 6 months. My 6 month Pap smear was negative for any abnormal cells. My Pap this year was positive for abnormal cells so they scheduled me for the colpo. If I have CIN 2 or higher my Dr wants to do a LEEP. I’m worried about that because hubby and I would like to start trying for a baby in the next year and I’m terrified I’ll end up with cervical incompetence.

I had what the little specs around it. I think that’s the coffee like discharge. You could go to urgent care and show them the picture.  I had to go to the ER after mine but it was more related an incomplete d&c I had done at the same time from a miscarriage.

that doesn't look good. the coffee looking stuff is normal. but i would see a dr & show them the picture.
