I went out to v-day lunch with my mans today and when it came time to pay, the waitress only talked to my bf and didn’t even look at me once. I just find it so rude when waiters/waitresses do that. I understand it was Valentine’s Day and all, but it happens on multiple occasions. Is it just me??

I’ve worked as a waitress and bar tender and what most females don’t realize is even though the man is paying, the tip is gonna come from his lady he’s with. If she feels disrespected best believe she will let him know, and he better not tip big or he’ll be in the dog house. I would  talk more with the women than the men just out of respect. And as a costumer this has happened and I’ve been like let me give you some advice waitress.

No it’s not just you! I remember my nana had this happen to her a while back and the waitress only talked to my grandpa, and she was paying the bill she tipped her 10 cents. Literally the waitress did not speak to her the whole time it was so bad

Well as a server you shouldn’t exactly do that.. but you flirt with them both more (for tips) 
My husband always gives me the card beforehand so I can pay and tip as I feel necessary.. because he knows he can be blindsided by that.. and not just girls, he does that with any kind of workers that could be tipped. 
One time we got new appliances and he was ready to tip the guys way more but I said no because they didn’t do it efficiently and accurately.. and he ended up having to reinstall everything.. so ever since then he left the payments to me

I always give at least 20 percent but if I’m not being acknowledged and being treated like that there’s no way I’m giving 20 percent

every time we went to eat, this would happen to myself and my baby's father. girls would flirt w him so much, even complimented him saying he looked like steph curry (yeah, right) so I finally just started speaking up and I would definitely be rude if I needed to be. 🤷🏽‍♀️ waitresses be having me fucked up sometimes.

I make it a point to talk to my server when I'm out with my boyfriend but they always talk to both of us. I live in Oklahoma so maybe it's a different state thing for them to be so rude to the women idk.

🙄 I wish the server would talk to my boyfriend. I feel like they always direct the conversation to me. He even points it out by saying “I think our server has a crush on you” no matter if their male or female lol 😂 some times I don’t wanna talk and wish they would direct all questions to him!

This happens to me a lot when I go out with my boyfriend, the only time it really hadn't was on the 15th and this nice waitress at IHOP specifically talked to me the whole time, body turned just to me only unless she was asking if he needed a drink refill.

I make sure to get the server’s eye contact and grab the bill from them. Nobody is going to stereotype my fucking relationship!!! 
Then when they leave, I ask for his card ehehhhh 🤪 hehe

Yea that would be super annoying, i work as a server right now and I always try to talk evenly to everyone at the table but sometimes ill be focused on something else and dont even realize that im not striking conversation with everyone. However i get where your coming from especially on valentines.
