It varies for everyone. Some are over in 24hrs while some take up to a week to be complete. This last one lasted 3 days. Started light bleeding on Friday evening and by Monday morning I had passed the sac then spotted for a few days after. Previous one lasted two days. You never know, you could pass everything by Wednesday but if not at least you have the d&c scheduled.

Hi guys, I’m scheduled to have a d/c this Wednesday (02/20) but I already started bleeding and I’m having some serious cramps. My baby died about a week ago and I started bleeding 3 days ago.
How long a natural miscarriage lasts? I’m afraid I won’t make it until Wednesday when I have the D/C....
* 7 weeks (but baby stopped developing at 6 weeks and 4 days )

I was 9wks but baby measured 6 so it was really tiny. I had mild cramping on and off all throughout the weekend but intense cramping on the Monday morning. Wasn’t as painful as I had expected but I had to lay down....luckily I was home. The intense cramps (which I would say were contractions as I could tell something was coming out) lasted about 20 mins and as soon as I passed the sac my cramps stopped immediately and I spotted for a few days.

How far along were you? Did it hurt?
I was at 8 weeks (baby at 6 weeks) and started bleeding last Tuesday evening. Today no cramps and no barely any bleeding. With my last miscarriage it was similar. So altogether about 10 days.

If that part has already started, it’s most likely the miscarriage will continue without needing a d&c, however you should call your doctor to let them know what’s going on. They will probably do an ultrasound at your appointment to see how the miscarriage is progressing and if a d&c is necessary.

Omg ... I’m at work now and the bleeding is not heavy yet but the cramps are really bad ... I don’t know how labor is either but I think what I feel is contractions but I’m not 100% sure... I feel pain for less than a minute and then it stops and then pain again and stops. I really hope to miscarry on my own but if not , I’m scheduled for Wednesday for the d/c

And then those cramps came and went for another 3 days, accompanied by much heavier bleeding than a heavy period. I made sure to wear black pants to work and have super pads in all pockets so they’d be at the ready whenever I got a chance to use the restroom at work (as a teacher it could be pushing the limits of a heavy pad).
My baby died around 6.5 weeks and I didn’t miscarry naturally until about 10.5 weeks. My doc gave me misoprostol to help and I ended up needing a d&c two weeks later. I only tell you think to emphasize how different everyone is. You’ll have to consult an OBGYN to know what the best course for you is 😕 I’m so sorry for your loss.

Yeah it wasn’t a very comfortable experience. Definitely a sleepless night. I would schedule an ultrasounds on Monday and still try and get the D&C on Wednesday if anything is left.

Thank you ... I’m sorry for your loss too 😢 My obgyn told me the 3 options ... I scheduled a d/c but I’m bleeding now and I’m having really bad cramps so I might miscarry before my d/c ( which is on Wednesday). The cramps hurt like hell now and I’m at work. I hope it will happen at least when I get home. Did yours hurt really bad?
