Did a membrane sweep help you go i to labour?

I’m 1cm 70%effaced and 39 weeks. 😑. Do you think I should do a membrane sweep to get things going?

Worked for me when I was almost 39 weeks and 2cm dilated and 80% effaced. It was super painful, had cramping for the rest of the day and my water broke about 15 hours after the sweep and baby was born almost exactly 24 hours after the sweep.

I went into labor less than 24 hours later. Ask if your bishop score is favorable. If your body is ready, yes they work! But if it’s not, you’ll know after 48 hours if it didn’t work lol. Mine didn’t hurt at all, just felt like a normal cervix check

Yes, I went into labor less than 10 hours later . My water slightly broke when I was home & then when we got to the labor & delivery floor in the elevator my water fully broke .

I got 3 membrane sweeps and they did nothing for me, unfortunately. I had a girlfriend who went into labor just a few hours after hers though. I do, however, think that sex broke my water! I had sex late the night before my water broke! It broke very early in the morning!

No, in my opinion they don’t work. I’ve had two and both were painful and tried to kickstart my body when I wasn’t ready. I was 100 effaced and 2cm dilated.
