How long did it take for him to propose?

I’ve been with my boyfriend for about three years and we both agreed to start trying for a baby. But he says he won’t marry me until we buy a house. Which will be about 10ish years down the road. I can’t help but feel a little impatient and sad that I have to wait that long. Am I being selfish? How long did you ladies wait?

You probably won’t ever get married if that’s his plan. I know so many people that said that’s how they would do it and the girl always ends up let down.
You’ll have a baby or maybe more
Youmll have a house
And when you ask about mariage he’ll tell you: well we already have a family and a house does it really matter if we’re married or not? 
If marriage is really important, make it known. Stop ttc, don’t move on woth life because he has a dofferent plan.

I'm not sure why he would want to take the BIGGER step first. Buying a house binds you to that person way more than marriage does. I would maybe ask his reasoning behind that? I can definitely understand your impatience with it, it just doesn't make sense to do it that way.

Having a baby is a life long connection while marriages and houses can be dissolved and divided with paperwork.  I'm confused on the logic... but everyone's different...

About 8 years for us! Together since I was 16 he was 17. Got married at 24/25 had our first baby at 26. Bought a house and had our second baby at 31.

If it's something you want then talk to him about it! It's definitely something you need to talk about especially if it's important to YOU!

My now husband proposed after we had been together for almost 7 years.. I honestly wouldn’t change a thing. . We never said we were going to wait for this or that, we just jive, and lived life. We lived together the whole time also. 
I feel like it’s chicken shit to say you want to buy a house, or do this or that before you marry.. that’s a stepping stone you should make together... married or not. Sounds to me like he’s afraid of the commitment. . Hope he gets his priorities straightened out ♥️

My husband and i didnt get married until last april and we've been together for 5 years and we were engaged for 4 of those years. We have a now have a 4 year old together and i have 2 from a previous marriage. So things dont always go as you plan but reassurance from your partner that it will happen helps. Especially when they know they want to be with you.

We got married before buying a house and starting a family. I agree that she be step at a time, but for us, marriage was a commitment to each other first and foremost before the rest of it fell in to place. Everyone does it in different ways, it’s something you need to discuss a bit more to figure out what is best.
