Too much crying?

Question

How much crying is too much crying? I’m 7 days postpartum and seem to be struggling some. I’m worried it will turn into postpartum depression??? I’m having a hard time taking care of the house, nursing, and taking care of my 3 and a half year old. Not sure if I’m just a little over whelmed right now or what

Totally normal, you probably are just lacking a lot on sleep...just give yourself grace, allow yourself to have the feelings you’re feeling, but don’t let them take over, easier said than done but, just remember you will sleep again, and get into a new routine. Lower your expectations, and take each day, err minute as it comes. Once you do get a bit more sleep, it will become easier, as in you’ll have more energy to take on two littles.

I think it’s normal.  I cried a lot after my son and I didn’t have another child.  Mine never turned into PPD, but you can always talk to your doctor if you’re worried about it.  I think it’s ok to just be patient with yourself and if you need to cry.. do it.  I remember one day I just handed my son to my husband and went in my bedroom to cry.  It eventually got better.

Very normal! Figure out if there are any stressors you can remove to make things easy on yourself. I saw my OB at 2 weeks pp for something and talked to him (ok I was literally crying while IN the office) and he told me it was completely normal and my hormones were still crazy. I think we’ve all gotten PPD drilled into our heads so much now that we’ve lost sight of the fact that baby blues are a real thing and temporary. If you’re really concerned, talk to your OB, but personally I think what you’re going through sounds normal.

I was the SAME WAY. My first week I was crying every single day. I think it’s a mix of hormones, sleep deprivation, and the feeling like we have to continue to do it ALL. I have a 5 year old too, so I understand. My son is now 2 weeks old and it’s getting a lot easier. I’ve also started pumping and my husband helps with feedings/diaper changes as often as I want him to. 
It gets better. ♥️

You need help. This is a time you shouldn’t be responsible for everything. I’d feel overwhelmed too. Do you have someone you can ask to help you out? Having babies is truly a community effort.
