Hey guys I just started taking the pill today. Will I get my period the same time I usually get it or should I just follow the pack and take the sugar pills when I get to them? (I started mid cycle)
ALSO anything that I should be aware of?

Follow the pill pack. Your body must adjust to the pills, not the other way around. You should get withdrawal bleeding (period) some time during the final week of the pack.
What should you know? The protection from pregnancy depends on one thing - taking it around the same time EVERY day. And read the instructions.
