Bird feeding technique?

My child is 9 months and reaching for table food and I read online some women “bird feed” their child instead of introducing jarfood. They chew the food then just put it in the babys mouth with their fingers( not regurgitate it into their mouth) Thoughts?

That made me cringe.  Just start with soft foods, and if you want it mashed up or puréed get a food processor or blender.

My mom did this shit to me as a baby and to this day I still gag a little when she and family brings it up... I’m almost 30 ☹️.

Baby’s are born with NO bad bacteria in their mouth, bad bacteria is transferred to them from other people’s mouths. Do not do that.... even dentists recommend not to KSU’s babies because of all the bad bacteria that is bad for their growing teeth and gums. Baby led weaning is the way to go... you can get soft foods and mash them by hand or purée them yourself if that’s what you want to do. Please don’t chew your baby’s food first
