I had a root canal today and when the dentist was finished I stood up to use the loo and my water broke. So we went to l&d since we were only at 34+4. We already had one fight with pre-term labor and expected an early baby so thankfully he had three rounds of beta steroids. I wasn’t progressing at all and with my water broken they wanted to progress and started to pitocin. After 5 hours I had worse contractions but no change with my cervix. They let me get an epidural because maybe it would calm my body down. It’s not my first baby and I remember the horrible contractions so I was all for it before it got to that point.

About 15 mins after the epidural I faded. My blood pressure dropped hard and fast and I couldn’t stay awake. The baby went into distress and his heart rate dropped. He wasn’t bouncing back so they rushed us to the OR. The emergency c-section went so quick I had zero time to process. Baby although early is very healthy. No oxygen needed at this point. He’s 5lbs 5oz and 15.75 inches. He’s teeny tiny but strong.
