Pacifier?

Question

So I boiled some pacifiers and bottles today, but noticed the mam brand pacifier got water stuck in the nipple as it boiled. Does this mean it's broken and should be tossed? I always thought pacifiers didn't get liquid inside them? My first never used them so I'm in the dark!

I never had a baby before or have used these pacifiers yet, but I think that might be a feature of MAM. I have some of them that come in a sterilizing container and the instructions say “Sometimes water may enter the inside of the nipple, this is because of a ventilation systems that exists in the nipple and helps make the pacifier orthodontic.”

Not sure about mam, but with Tommee Tippee you can turn the pacifier upside down and squeeze the nipple to get the water out. Worked wonders when my 1 year old dumped hers in cups lol. Maybe worth a shot to prevent mold

Avent ones are like that too. (We used them with our daughter) I think all the multiple piece pacifiers are more prone to collecting bacteria. We went with one pieces this time because we had to replace the avent ones so frequently because of it! Avent soothies, natursutton, hevea, first years gumdrop, and raz baby jollypop are all good ones to try!

It happens with mam. Also nuk, avent, anything similar in shape. When the ba y uses them the same will happen so its important to wash them regularly. Just hold them by the nipple (nipple on top plastic part down) and give some squeezes and air dry. Just bottle nipple they'll need to be replaced regularly if not more often.
