Do you prefer carpet or hardwood in there bedroom

Question

Need flooring in my upstairs bedrooms. Still trying to decide between hardwood and carpeting. 
So what would you prefer in your own bedroom? What would you like to see in a house you were buying/renting? 
Maybe helpful information?: we have a cat, but no kids yet. We live in a neighborhood with lots of identical condos. 
Right now, the stairs are fully carpeted and in good condition, so I'm also not sure whether to keep that or have hardwood stairs as well. That is less important than the bedrooms at the moment though.

I currently have carpet and I’m not a fan. It’s too hard to clean. I’d suggest hardwood then get like a cute rug or something

I love hardwood so much but with how much I have to sweep and mop down here I think I’d rather keep carpet upstairs

Definitely hardwood. So much easier to clean in my opinion. Especially if anything gets spilled on it, you can wipe it right up without it staining. If you want some carpet, just get a small rug or something like that

whenever my parents built one of the houses we grew up in, i had asked my mom why they never put carpet in anywhere. my mom always used hardwood and tile and threw a few rugs here and there. she said “i have 4 kids” lol it was all the explanation i needed. carpets nice but when it comes to cleaning it’s a real pain in the ass. hardwood is so much easier to keep up with.

Hard wood or tile that looks like hard wood. Carpet in my opinion is disgusting/out dated and never gets fully clean. I’d rather lay down a rug and be able to wash it completely.

I love hardwood. I have a cat who eats carpet and barfs if back up so hardwood is a lot easier on us. We had all hardwood when our kid was learning to crawl and walk and he had no issues.

Hardwood because it is easier to clean. I don’t have to scrub if something spills on it. We also have this amazing “vinal” flooring that looks and feels like real wood. It is waterproof, cleans up sooo easily and is scratch proof. It’s also a lot cheaper and easy to install. I will never go back to carpet. It’s so easy just to sweep and mop than it is to lug around a vacuum and spot clean the carpet. You can also opt for an area rug.
