Also planned parenthood states, based on research, that user error is the most common cause of unplanned pregnancies on birth control. 95% of unplanned pregnancies on birth control are due to user error. So while it happens only 5% is due to true failure of the medication working. That's why implants and iuds are 20X more effective it takes away user error. The pill, patch and ring are 99.9% effective if used perfectly which is the same rate as iuds and implants but theres pretty much 0 room for user error.

One time pregnancy sure. There are many factors that can cause birth control to be less effective, staying in the heat/cold, not taking it every day, missing pills, antibiotics, other meds, etc. however, after the first pregnancy I feel like you would be more aware... taking it properly, etc lol I know for sure if I was to get pregnant on my birth control I am switching to iud.

Perfect is more than taking it on time. Theres lot of meds that can interact with it, dont take expired meds, dont leave it in excessive heat, if you vomit or have diarrhea within 3 hours of taking it it counts as a missed pill and condoms should be used for 7 days.

I definitely think some people lie about it but I also know that happened to my cousin and Ik for a fact she took her pill every single day bc I stayed with her for a little while. I think for some people they forget to take one or they’re late taking one then completely forget about it and end up pregnant... then of course you have the girls that try to trap their man...

My cousin says she did and her doctor said she got pregnant because her dose was to low for her weight (300+lbs)
