Would you ever schedule the birth?

Ladies my husband will be in an academy during y pregnancy and not sure if I should schedule the birh so he can be there. What's the positive and negatives?

Postitives: if the baby actually is willing to be born when scheduled, you can probably have the people you want there. 
Negatives: the person who knows best when the baby is ready to be born is the baby. If you try to schedule it, you're stealing days that the baby needed to be inside you. Even late preterm babies have more health problems than full term babies.

Some doctors let you schedule a c-section but I never would! I want the baby to come when baby is ready. Your body is made to handle this! Women have been doing it for years! And I wouldn't voluntarily do a c-section because it's MAJOR SURGERY! The recovery is way worse and there are more risks involved. Can you imagine trying to heal from major surgery while trying to care for a newborn? No thanks

I would only schedule if I had to. If I didn't have a medical reason for scheduling then I wouldn't.

Most doctors and certainly midwives will not let you schedule a birth. Babies come when they are ready!

My doctor won't schedule an induction unless there is something wrong (gestational diabetes, etc) or I'm a week overdue. Before making this decision, you should check with your doctor.
