Being induced early... maybe...

Ka

So I’m beyond frustrated with my providers. I’m 38 weeks today (due March 4), trying for a VBAC On Valentine’s Day I went to a normal appointment and they ended up sending me to the hospital for a non stress test because my blood pressure was high. Something like 156/93 I believe. Then my blood pressure was consistently high for and hour or so. They put me on a bp med and told me they want to get the baby out by 38 weeks when bp is the issue so they wanted to induce. I think normally they’d schedule a cesarean but I’m trying for the VBAC Well, they can’t use certain meds to start me dilating because they could compromise the scar tissue from my previous cesarean, so they want to use a foley bulb to start me dilating. I wasn’t dilated at all when I went in on Thursday but they sounded like that wasn’t a big deal. So Thursday and Friday were spent trying to wrap my head around the fact that I will have my baby in a few days for sure. Then they call me Saturday and tell me that I have to come in for an evaluation before they induce me and that I may end up waiting a week if “conditions aren’t favorable” and if my blood pressure seems under control. With my providers it’s like a group of doctors and midwives and I’m not guaranteed to see any specific one or have any specific one deliver my baby, which is very frustrating. I feel like they don’t communicate well with each other and on top of it all it’s my two least favorite providers making all these decisions.

So part of this post is the rant a little, and part is to ask if anyone has ever been induced with the foley bulb/balloon. I know everyone is different but I’d like to hear about it. Hopefully they will induce Tuesday because God knows I’m sick of being pregnant, but I have a feeling it’s going to be rough and I’m trying to prepare myself for that.
