Basically a ring to shut a girl up about marriage without proposing 🤷🏼‍♀️

Its just a ring people get if they think they’re in a serious relationship. But people give them even when they’re not so lol. Or it could just be a ring symbolizing a promise of some sort.

It’s like a pre-wedding ring or it can be a symbol for a promise you’ve mad to yourself or a family member.

It started out as a promise to keep yourself pure for you spouse.  Normally given by the parents to a child when they reach a certain age. Now a lot of times it is used for a promise to married but your not able to afford it yet or you are trying to resolve issues with familys or too young but still want a commitment. My husband and I did a  promise ring for me( too signify our pledge to marry...my parents did not approve so we where trying to give it time to work on that) and matching promise bracelet(him) and necklace(me) set ( promising purity and commitment to each other)
