How often?

Brittany

I’m literally trying my absolute best to “make a baby” but it’s not realistic to try every single night. What is the ideal amount of times? What is too little? Is there a such thing as too much? I’m feeling overwhelmed with tracking and I’m stressing that I’m not having enough sex. 😂 I’m overweight this time around and paranoid it’s going to make a difference and I’ll never get pregnant.

We tried for nearly a year exactly before finally getting pregnant. When we finally did, we used ovulation tests from Walmart (equate brand, very cheap), sperm friendly lube (we used PreSeed but there are others out there), took basal body temp with a bbt thermometer we got from Walmart (also cheap). And sorry if it's TMI but when we baby danced I told him not to pull out right away, so he waited until he was almost completely soft. And I put my feet up against the wall for a bit. We did that same process every time we got a positive ovulation test. Bam! Pregnant! 😊

I would suggest BD every other day at the beginning of your fertile week (or after your period ends if you aren’t tracking). And if using opk’s, BD every other day until you get a positive, then BD that day and the 2 days after.

The apps only estimate. So starting opk’s would definitely help. How long are your cycles normally? 28 days? 32? ...? And yes, BD every OTHER day (as it will allow sperm to build up and you don’t tire out lol).

Gotcha. Maybe that’s my problem. I’ll have sex for like three days in a row. Then nothin because I’m exhausted. Then again for 2 or 3 days. Hmm. I think I’m going to get ovulation tests too. Just to be sure that the apps aren’t lying to me. 😂

BD: Baby Dance (sex), and OPK (ovulation tests).

They say sperm can survive in the body for 2-5 days sometimes. My periods come every other month, so ever since my last period, we have been BDing every 2-3 days. I think I might be in my fertile window now so we are doing every other day. I don’t think there’s any need to go every single day, you’ll just stress yourself out trying to get in the mood!

Timing is whats important, not frequency. The reason people are told to do it a lot is so they dont miss the most fertile day: the day you get a positive OPK.

Most day every other day! My hubby works 24 hour shifts (sometimes 48😳) so unfortunately it's hard to BD when I think we should, so typically every other day if we can 🤞🏻I just got better OPKs though so I'm hoping I can narrow down when I better now

Yeah i don't know how actuate apps can really be, it's hard. I just got Pregmate opk strips (i got them off Amazon). They were recommended to me by a few ladies on here 🤞🏻

Which opk are you using? Maybe I’ll start there. So far I’ve only been relying on apps but obviously that isn’t working... 😭

I had sex once during my fertile days the month I got pregnant. There are no set amount of days you should or shouldn’t. Just do it when you want to

Every time we've gotten pregnant (4 times since 2016, 2 miscarriages but not the point ) we did every other day.
