So I’m watching 16 & pregnant, towards the end of the middle of the show, she was 38 weeks pregnant and asked if she could be induced and doctor asked her “why?” The girl said “I’m uncomfortable.” 🙄 if I had asked my OB when I was 38 weeks pregnant because of being uncomfortable then she would have laughed in my face and said nope, baby has until 40 weeks to be born and would have said to come back after 40 weeks then we will talk about being induced. The girl from the show ended up being induced a week later so I’m assuming at 39 weeks but still not 40 weeks and because of being induced, they started her labor early without it starting on its own. She ended up having a c-section (can’t remember why, I left the room to get something to eat and when I came back, she had her baby via csection) but I know that inducing labor early can turn into a csection and having a c-section is scary! I would be more uncomfortable to have labor start on its own rather than risk complications to induce early (I know you can have c-section even being in labor on your own, it just raises more complications when you induce labor especially when you’re not even 40 weeks yet. If you were past 40 weeks and had to be induce then that is completely different because it’s not safe to go past your due date too long). Anyways, I just felt like she should have waited and this is what pregnancy does to you when you decide to get pregnant or have sex unprotected... but my question is, do you think the doctor said yes because there were cameras around and she wanted to seem like the nice cool doctor so she could have women come to that office when they become pregnant because she will induce if they ask or do you think it had nothing to do with cameras and she just thinks it’s okay and safe to induce early if pregnant women want to? I mean it’s none of my business rather the girl got induced or not and had her baby early or not as long as her baby was healthy then that’s all that matters but most doctors that I know and even other woman will say that inducing pregnancy before 40 weeks when there’s completely nothing wrong with you and the baby is not ok and just to stick it out until 40 weeks or unless you end up in labor before 40 weeks then after that, then it’s okay to talk about inducing.. what are your thoughts on the doctor basically saying it’s okay to induce early for no reason at all or if it’s just because of the cameras?
