Pregnancy Car Seat Adapters?

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone can advise on a good car seat adapter for pregnancy. I know it's very important that the belt isn't covering your bump in case of an accident. I wanted something that's actually been tested for safety but the best option I could find (the Tummy Shield) is really quite expensive!
Does anyone else here use one and have any recommendations?

It’s more safe to use your seatbelt as instructed than to add after market items.

I am just finding stuff like this from hospitals/DMV etc that says it’s safe to wear your seatbelt, just wear it low and position the strap around your belly. Further down this same search it talks about that most adapters are purely for comfort. I have a friend who was 28 weeks pregnant roll their truck several times into a deep (15+ feet) ditch. She was wearing her seatbelt properly, baby was completely fine.

I'm glad you brought this up. I travel about 4 hours a day and didn't think twice about seatbelt positioning on my bump.

Thanks guys, I have been searching the internet for evidence that they aren't safe but haven't really found anything yet (just scary statistics about using a standard seatbelt). Do you have any sources please?
