Overweight is not a term used for infants.  What mattters more is weight trajectory, and weight fot length (proportionality), unfortunately most docs dont really look at that for correct interpretation.  I used to plot my son on the WHO growth charts myself to see how he was growing.  If he is over 98% weight for length, they are “high”.  That said- so much impacts that.  Of you are feeding appropriately, on demand, just starting solids now and letting your child self regulate- there is nothing more to it.  My son was a chunk until 2 yrs when he shot up in length and got really picky, now he is 60% bmi- which is perfect.  Often they balance themselves out.

My first son was 18 lbs by 2 months age. He tripled his birth weight, he was slow to roll over and crawl but he is a happy healthy almost 3 year old now!  And he is a ham! Lol

Your son isn't big or overweight, every baby is different. Smh at some women saying yes he is big like stfu not every child has to be like theirs. My son is 4 months and 20 pounds now, he was born 10 pounds because of his genes and hes healthy and growing the way hes supposed to.

Our daughter was 19lb2oz at her 6 month appt last week. She is in no way overweight so I wouldn’t consider it overweight.

My son is 6.5 months and 20 lbs and has been following the same growth curve. He's tall too at 27.5". The dr always says he's healthy! Some babies are heavier and taller and some are lighter and shorter. I doubt there's any cause for concern, but you can always bring it up at your next appointment if it would give you peace of mind.

Yeah I would say that is big. My son is 13 months and is 24 pounds and is a couple pounds bigger but also very tall. He's taller than average so his weight compensates for it. 6 months at 21 pounds is big.
