First timer here re: doctor visits

Hi! I just found out I’m pregnant on Friday and so I was eager to see my doctor right away. After a few awkward conversations I’m thinking this is not the norm, to go in for an official pregnancy test ASAP. my regular obgyn is booked out till March 19, is that typical to wait a month???
