Don't Want a Wedding

Am I the only woman who absolutely doesn't want a wedding? I think they can be a waste of money. I'd rather use the 20 grand I would spend on a wedding for a down payment on a house or something.

My ideal 'wedding' would just be me and my partner at the courthouse and then do a small party at a restaurant with family and friends.

Is this just me?

We did a small but beautiful wedding for $2000! Wore my moms dress, got married in a barn, made all of our own decorations, had a friend do nails and make-up, jewelry was a gift, wore my hair natural, And found a photographer on Craigslist! You don't have to spend a lot to have a nice wedding. We were both college students working part-time but couldn't wait to be married!

I agree. I had a courthouse wedding and a very elegant dinner party afterwards. If you have it at home you can cater out and still be wayyyy under a wedding budget

It's not just you. Lots of people like having small, or no fuss wedding. Do whatever makes you and your partner happy. Your friends and family will get over it.

My wedding was on the beach and we had the reception in my parents backyard! It was with some close friends and family. I still felt like it was too much haha

I don't want a wedding. Hell, I don't even want a ring. I just want to be married to my best friend & have my family with him.

My husband and I went to the courthouse and then stayed at a hotel that evening before going to the water park the next day with friends. It was awesome

I feel you! I've always disliked big weddings and knew I wanted something more personal. What MY idea of a perfect wedding was just my DH and I signing our license in our bed with candles all around us, just breathing our next chapter in together. He's really close to his family though, so we had to compromise! We invited a dozen family members to join us as we exchanged vows in front of the Stanley Hotel (his grandpa married us) then have a quick lunch with us. Then our son left with my MIL and we ghost hunted and enjoyed each other for the rest of the night! It was stress free and so perfect! Figure out what works for YOU! Not all of us are cut out to be bridezillas!

Don't worry, you're not the only one. Even my mom advised me to save the money for honeymoon (or a house) and have a small dinner party with family and close friends instead.
