Maybe I'm just a crazy, paranoid person, but I was thinking about this earlier. Now, I don't live in a bad area or anything, but things can happen everywhere. Sometimes when I leave the store and get to my car, I will sometimes sit in my car for a few minutes. Usually on looking things up on my phone, but still aware of my surroundings.

The thought I had though is, would it be safer to sit with my car on or off? I'm torn. If the car is off, I can keep the keys in my hand or something and if someone were to jump into my car, I could try to get out real quick with my keys so they can't steal my car, or I could possibly use them as a weapon. On the other hand though, of the car is already on, I can quickly drive off if someone tries to get in my car, but if they are too quick, I'm screwed.

The front passenger door does not lock, that's something I need to have fixed. So keeping my doors locked wouldn't really help too much right now.

What do you think? Would it be safer to sit in my car with it turned on or off?
