Semen check?

Has anyone ever tried the at home semen check before? How was the experience? My DF  is worried about getting a low count.... I wanna check this before we decide to go to a fertility doctor to check how fertile we are.

My SO did it and got a positive because it comes out positive if it's over 20 ml per ml. We went and had a semen analysis and it came back 22 million per milliner. When actually the doctors claim anything below 40 million per ml may have trouble trying to conceive. Plus there is other factors such as motility and morphology that actually mean a lot on male fertility. My suggestion is to not waste the money like we did and do a analysis.

I made my husband do an at home one and everything came out normal. We have an appt with a fertility clinic this week. I am going to request that they check him. I will keep you posted to see if the results are the same. Baby dust to all of us.

Just some info your pcp can request the test too. Also it's generally only 165. And they will look at all aspects of the seman. Not just the count.

My fiancé took a home test before we decided to have my tubal reversal and it says to not have sex for 3 days before the test and he only waited 24 hours and still got a positive result

I bought the microscope one from amazon, thinking it would just be fun to try. It's actually very accurate and easy to use. The instructions are very simple and it results were exactly the same as when we had an analysis done 7 months ago at the doctor's office. . (Not so good)....hope this helps;)
